chadfowler I just completed a short sale in Newcastle using the HAFA program and it was great. The buyer got a beautiful home for an outstanding price and the seller was able to walk away with no deficiency on a 1st and 2nd Mortgage. They also received a check for $3,000.00 for moving expenses provided by HAFA. I feel like HAFA has come a long way and at least in this case, provided the type of help for homeowners facing foreclosure that the program was intended to provide, but rarely did early on its existence.
As with anything there will always be room for improvement and HAFA won’t work perfectly in every situation, but the changes that have been made seem to be a step in the right direction.
